An Apple of My Eye Baby Shower

2:26 PM

For a fall baby boy shower, we paired green and burlap together for a sweet Apple of My Eye shower. Starting with the invites:

When guests arrived, they helped themselves to a caramel apple bar and some brunch foods:

They were able to spread the warm caramel over their apples and add desired toppings. We had peanuts, sprinkles, and mini chocolate chips, but you could also add crushed graham crackers, crushed Oreos, pecans, etc.!

After the food, we played a few games. If you have ever read any of my previous baby shower posts before, you know that I hate weird baby/bridal shower games. People shouldn't have to eat chocolate out of a diaper. First we played Babies A-Z. Everyone write down baby-related things that start with each letter. Whoever guesses the most words closest to what the momma puts down wins! Surprisingly more difficult than you think. Here's the file we used:

Next, in keeping with the theme, we played Apples to Apples baby style! Here's how we played:

1. The momma-to-be picked a card that had an adjective or phrase one it (example: "I have been craving ____ lately" or "Cute")
2. Everyone had 10 slips of paper that were mostly baby related words, but some not (example: Milk, Waking up at 3 a.m., Crying, A sexy doctor, Ryan Gosling, etc.). They put down a corresponding answer to the card that the momma played.
3. She picked the one she thought was the funniest!
4. The player with the chosen answer keeps the card. Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game wins.

It was a fun, low-key shower with lots of good conversation and yummy food. Can't ask for a better party than that. Plus, it really made the mother of honor feel special.
